So I'm buying my fridge conversion kit today. I have three questions for everyone. It is probably on a past post but I couldn't find the exact answers I was looking for.

1. I get the idea of proper carbonation levels and a balanced system. To make my question easier to answer I'll set-up a senario... My fridge is 42 degrees. I want 2 points of carbonation for my beer. To get this at that temp I need 8psi to the keg. Now the question... How much resistance do I want for the beer lines? To me it seems a touch under 8 so the beer is pushed out while trying to even out pressure. Maybe 7 for the resistance.

2. How much resistance does the faucet and shank create?

3. How long does it take to force carbonate a batch of beer? I know hitting it with like 30 psi and shaking it speeds up the process.

I can’t answer the first 2…as I still have cobra heads. Taps will be for xmas next year! After I force carbonate I set the reg at about 5 psi and this keeps the beer flowing nicely with a decent head.

When I force carbonate I set the reg to 25 psi and shake the keg for about 30 seconds, let it rest for a few minutes, then shake for another 30 seconds, rest for a few minutes then a final 30 second shake.

I put the keg in the fridge and in about 24 hours it is cooled and ready to drink.
