Hello ya'll! I have been away from the board for awhile and don't see Paul anywhere...?
I enjoyed his comments and opinions, does anyone know what's up?
And I brewed a beer with rice syrup in the recipe...been in bottle for 8 weeks and still has a sweet after taste that I don't care for, has anyone used it and what did you find?

Yes, welcome back! Does the rice syrup give you headaches? Seems Rice may be one of the culprits involved in causing hangovers or at least headaches.

I made a Pilsener and a Corona clone that both used a bag of rice solids. It should ferment very quickly and pretty thorough, if your beer is still sweet, it's probably due to something else like the yeast?? Or priming sugar even?
What type of beer was it? What kind of yeast did you use?
I don't know if you were referring to me in your original post. If so, then, I'm here...I wander quite a bit, but tend to stay away from the forums that rotate around tasting other "real" beers and stuff like that because in Utah....I CAN'T GET ANY!!!!
If you were referring to some other Paul....then....sorry!
Welcome back. I recently returned myself from a summer sabatical from brewing. Good thing I had about 30 cases in the basement to tide me over!

Yea you're the Paul...and I am glad to hear from you.
Also, the recipe for that batch with the rice syrup is buried in a pile but I will find it and post the type of yeast and other ingredients. I remember the yeast was a dry pack and the beer was a simple light style.
It seems to be changing a little in taste now( had a bottle last nite) the sweetness is fading a bit...no headaches that I have noticed.
It's good to be back in the crowd...
