okay hey, im new here, this is a question not generally about beer drinking, but its related to it so i posted it here, i wanted people opinion, tho i know this might not be the place to post it but i figure people on here are obviously beer drinkers that might be able to answer my question, let me give you a little background first, i've been an alcoholic for going on 3 years now, i drink approx. 7-10 beers daily, i used to be up to 10-15 a day until i cut down, recently after all this drinking i find myself getting sick, im always extremely weak, feel dehydrated, have trouble holding down large amounts of food, i have a neighbor whos like that also but worse but shes been drinking 20 years, but on the other hand i have a neighbor who drinks the same and is alot older and can eat and function and hold up a job perfectly? does anyone here experience anything similar to what i've described due to drinking excessively? any help is appriciated thank you

Please go get a doctor's checkup. I have seen friends and family with these symptoms and they are signs of potentially severe internal organ injuries.
The fact that you are asking means you are worried and you realize something is wrong. This is nothing to be ashamed about. In fact, it is a good sign, that you care.
Your health (and that includes both physical and mental health) is not something to be taken lightly. We love beer here but I for one do not think it is worth my life. Your body is telling you it needs help. Please give it the help it needs.
Try calling this number and see if they can help answer some of your questions:

Good luck and I truly hope this helps!

+1 See your doctor. Alcoholism is serious, and can kill you. 7-10 beers a day is very hard on your liver, if you are doing it every day. Some things that may help you feel better while you wait to see your doctor, drink a lot of water and juice, you feel dehydrated because you are, also take a b-vitamin supplement, or just drink a red bull. A good Multi-vitamin couldn't hurt either but you really should seek help.
Alcoholism simple means you can not go without some form of alcohol every single day. If that is the case with you, then you should seek help. Good Luck!

Sounds like the beginning of cirrhosis, though I am in no way a doctor and have no idea what I am talking about. I was looking into this over the past year as a friend of mine(really, it wasn't me) was having somewhat the same issue with no eating, throwing up when she did eat, run down, sleeping a ton, etc. Luckily she realized what was going on after some of us talked about it with her and she stopped drinking for a bit. Definitely seek medical attention!

thanks guys, my friend told me it wasnt likely to be cirrhosis because ive only been drinking for 3 years and not heavily the first two years. but yeah a neighbor of mine has it too her symptoms were similar but shed been drinking for over 30 years. i dont think its any internal injuries because i dont do anything to get something like that haha plus before i drank i was completely in full health all of the time. but thanks!
