Four Brewery Ommegang Ales Receive Honors from the Chicago-based Beverage Tasting Institute.
(COOPERSTOWN, NY) Four fine Belgian-style ales, from Brewery Ommegang of Cooperstown NY, were honored in the Chicago-based Beverage Tasting Institute review of dark, winter and stout beers.
All four beers were awarded Gold Medals; lead by a 95 rating for Ommegang’s namesake Ommegang Abbey Ale, an 8.5% Belgian-style Abbey Dubbel. Following with a 92 rating is Ommegang Adoration Winter ale, a 10% abv dark winter Belgian-style ale brewed with five malts and five spices. With 91 ratings are both Ommegang Three Philosophers Quadrupel, a 9.7% abv quadrupel with blended-in Belgian Kriek (a cherry beer), and Ommegang Chocolate Indulgence Stout, a 7% Belgian-style stout brewed with real Belgian chocolate.
The BTI reviews and publishes tasting notes and ratings several times annually on the best of American alcoholic beverages. It is a resource for retailers, bar and restaurant owners and in-the-know consumers.
