OKay...most of you know by now that I have never really cared for St. Arnold's products, though I did give their Winter Stout a strong recommendation.

Tonight, hanging out at the local pub, I was talked into trying St. Arnold's Christmas Ale. It is a seasonal (duh), cask conditioned, ale that is distributed only to a handful of bars and pubs, and only in the state of Texas.

Well, much to my surprise, once again the folks at SA have proven that they are more than capable of brewing a top notch product. This cask conditioned ale pours a color somewhere between amber and caramel. It was quite a sight. Very little head to, but what head was there could only be described as very creamy. The nose had a blend of fruit, spices and hops. The taste was one predominantly of spice and fruit, with a very hoppy, yet balanced finish.

I really did enjoy this seasonal ale.
