Hello everyone,

Sorry to interrupt this forum with such a boring post, but I was wondering if I could get some help with compiling a list of publicly traded companies (beer and/or liquor companies).

Any of the big companies is fine, but I am more interested in smaller companies which have gone public...and may even be servicing regions instead of national.

If anyone can reply to this post with some companies that you are aware of, I would appreciate this tremendously.

Thank you.

I'm not sure exactly how it works, but when companies go public they submit paperwork to the the SEC or one of those Wall St government departments. I'm not sure if federal covers all of them or if you'd have to plow through a lot of state level paperwork.
Hope this helps, or at least not hinder.

corporate law is typically held in the hands of the individual states in the u.s.a., the event of taking a private corporation public is a function of changing the company's articles of incorporation. additionally, depending on company size, a public corporation may be traded on any of the exchanges given the appropriate invitation. the two largest exchanges being the nyse (http://nyse.com) and the amex (http://amex.com). most smaller companies of the type you mention would probably be traded over the counter (http://www.nasdaq.com).

all three of those websites are probably suitable for locating companies by business type (they ought to be, my investors business daily does it). your best bet, however, is to use some form of financial service, like yahoo financials or moody's, to find public corporations my business category.
