Brewed my Mish Mash today. See the link below for pictures.

Here is my final formulation:

4 lb Muntons 2 row (2.2) target OG 1.049 act 1.050
3.2 lb Mild Ale
7 oz British Crystal 60L
2 oz British Crystal 10L
5.5 oz Flaked Maize
13.5 oz White Sugar

16 g bullion @60
7 g target @ 60
5 g challenger @ 60
14 g hallertau @ 60

10 g goldings @ 15
6 g hallertau @ 15
tsp irish moss @ 15

1 cup heather tips @ 5

mashed @ 153 for 99 minutes (2.5 gallons)
batch sparged @ 180 for 15 (4 gallons)

boiled 6 gallons

I used a starter for the 1st time on this batch. What a difference. I pitched the starter just a few hours ago and I'm already getting bubbles. I usually just pitch it straight from the tube. I learned something today.

Starters are our friend, especially with good aeration.

The 2 biggest things I did to improve my homebrew was yeast starters and aerating the wort.
