Good Afternoon,
First off, in honor of Summer's arrival yesterday, we're turning on the AC. So if you cruise by and see the door closed, that's why. We love 30th Street, we just don't want to pay to air-condition it. As you may know, tonight is Drinkabout, the (free!) shuttle that will run you to all of the area bars & restaurants that do craft beer. With destinations like the Live Wire, Blind Lady Ale House, Searocket Bistro, Hamilton’s Tavern, Ritual Tavern, Small Bar, The Station and... us, it’s an opportunity to try a dazzling amount of quality beers and great food without even thinking about your car keys. This Thursday starting at 6 pm, we're doing a Karl Strauss Pint night. The beer list looks like this:
Whistler Imperial Pils-
A bold Imperial Pilsner brewed with Moravian malts and Noble Saaz hops for toasted malt flavors and a dry grassy finish.
Specs: 7.5% ABV - 65 IBU - 12 SRM
Off The Rails-
A robust Imperial Red Ale with rich caramel malt flavors, undertones of dried fruit, and an assertively hoppy finish.
Specs: 8.5 % ABV - 70 IBU - 30 SRM
Too Legit Wit-
A crisp and refreshing Belgian-style wheat beer brewed with coriander and bitter orange peel.
Specs: 4.8% ABV - 12 IBU - 5 SRM
Catacombs India Black Lager
A jet black, highly hopped, and super flavorful lager brewed with six different malts, cold conditioned for two months, and dry-hopped with cascades.
Specs: 5.3% ABV - 60 IBU - 80 SRM
Oaked Reef Break Red - (Cask)
A rich and complex Belgian Strong Ale with caramel and dried fruit flavors, a touch of spice, and hints of oak in the warming finish.
Specs: 8.1% ABV - 28 IBU - 25 SRM
We'll have all these beers at "the nice price" (was that Licorice Pizza?) and you can walk home with a New Karl Pint Glass, or NKPG for short.
We also have a bunch of awesome new bottles in the coolers that we thought you should know about, such as:
Cantillon Rose de Gambrinus- traditional Belgian lambic ale brewed with raspberries. 750ml De Molen Pattinson Porter- Porter brewed to a 1914 recipe for the London Porter style, by this Dutch brewer. 750ml Bink Bloesem- 7.1% Farmhouse ale brewed with locally grown (local in Belgium) pears and honey. 330ml De Ranke Kriek- Belgian sour beer with cherries; blended with 30% young lambic. 7% 750ml Monchshof Kellerbier- unfiltered German lager in a 550 ml flip-top.
Oude Beersel Kriek- Awesome Belgian cherry lambic beer. 375ml Val Dieu Grand Cru. Big, dark, delicious 10.5% Belgian abbey ale. 750ml Scaldis Prestige de Nuits- Scaldis Noel (12%, and one of our personal favorites) aged six months in burgundy barrels. 750ml.
St. Peters Sorghum- No wheat or barley, this G-free ale has amarillo hops and a clean, lager-like finish. 500ml.
Cable Car 2010- Come in and try this year's version of the beer brewed by Tomme Arthur to commemorate the Toronado 20th Anniv. 750ml
