I have come to the conclusion I am spending too much time in here. All I want to do now is brew another beer, or barleyine or mead or .......
Like others, this hobby is turning into an obsession.
Today, I was offered a chest freezer (for free) and a Universal Exercise set (free if I will move it). I have figured it out. I need to set exercise equipment up in spare bedroom, get freezer and convert it to kegerator and set it up in same room.
Exercise a few minutes, drink a beer, exercise, drink.......HELP!!!

Why fight it, when it feels so good to just give in? Welcome ;)

"HELP" means everyone needs to send me one dollar and then I will have money to make more beer, get more carboys for fermenting, and to start kegging.

How many of you frequent other boards? Even ones that are none beer related.

I usually spend some time on this one and then 2 others, one of those which I am quite a bit.

My wife has started calling herself a realbeer.com widow.

I spend time here and on one other beer board.
I sit at desk all day, waiting for "clients" to come in and see me, so I can surf the "net while I am waiting. Gives me chance to study up on what I need to do and what I need to brew.

I visit this board on a regular basis, and one other board. I am at the computer all day most of the time, so I take mini breaks and pop in for a quick read. It really helps break up the monotony of what I am currently working on. That is until the project cycle turns and then I will have no time to be here for a few weeks. :(

Yup, another computer geek here. I usually check in a few times a day while compiling code or running some program or other.

This is the only board I've become addicted to so far.

I visit here in the mornings before I get going with the day, and again at night once I'm home. I can usually tell that I've been spending too much time on the boards when my wife starts watching MTV and HGTV at full volume... ;)

I used to go to a bcakpacking site fairly regulary but that site became too political and clicky so I rarely go back there now, maybe only to read about gear reviews.
I also go to the American Orchid Society forum, I know kinda dorky but hey like spending so much time on a beer site isnt?
Then of course there is IRC which when people show up there I like to chat.
And I seem to spend an abundance of my free time on this board. Its a good board. It rarely gets political or religious. And the people who post on here all seem to be a good group of people that all do a great job of making people feel welcome.

Cheers to a good site!

I agree! There have been a few threads that have seemed to get a little hot headed, but people here always seem to listen to one another and make an attempt to get to the truth and the heart of the matter instead of hurling insults at each other. Much different than most of the people I know here in TN... Thanks for giving me an opportunity to make friends in a friendless part of the world!

That is what I like about this board too…everyone is so friendly and helpful there isn’t the typical bullsh*t and flaming that goes on in other boards.

I usually spend time early in the morning and late in the afternoon. I am home sick now so you'll see more of my posts. I also post more while I'm brewing. Speaking of that, I have to sparge my batch of MishMash in about 30 minutes. The only other forum I spend time on is a Detroit Lions forum(insert joke here).

You said "insert joke here", so I did... ;)

I hit several message boards throughout the day. I do this one, Homebrew.com and Nothernbrewer.com pretty regularly.

This was the first one recommended to me at the LHS when I first got interested in homebrewing(After 1st batch of Mr. Beer!). The only one I use to this day. Everyone is helpful, friendly and there are always good topics. Never found a reason to look anywhere else. Not to say I have a hard enough time keeping up with this one by itself.

Thank's for all the spread knowledge!!!

This is the only beer related board I go to. I spend some time on a few other boards, though. Mostly cigar related.

I check out a few other boards, but this one is by far the best. As others have noted, everyone is really cool and willing to help out with advice, hints, tips, etc. I definitely spend the bulk of my time here.

I really like this board. And have to say I'm kinda addicted;)
My fiancé was just asking when do I stop and be more social...There is one other achitecture related board that I visit daily, but hey that's professional.

It was great to meet you and your wife. Keg cleaning is going very slowly because I'm going very slowly today. I might only get a few done and finish the rest on Monday. Motivation is not very easy for me on Fridays:D Hopefully my wife will start feeling better soon, and we can all get together and bbq and have some beers. And if she's not, well, we can do it anyway.

Cheers!

Steve

I visit two boards pretty regularly, meaning at least once per day, this one and a chainmaille board, TheRingLord.com. I have a fast connection at work so there's usually a window open to this board up there. Dial-up at home, so less frequent.

I FEEL the reason this board is so great is the fact that BEER has no political bend to it :)

what's up with that picture TJ?
it looks like a wrench in a light socket, glowing red from heat?

anyway... I stumbled across this board by accident while surfing as a brewing newbie. This is the only beer board I do, but I also spend a lot of time on my Livejournal (and a homebrewing community on there.)

I typically browse here when I get up in the morning, 1-3 times during the day, and before bed.

I usually check this board several times during the day while at work,
mostly first thing in the morning and between jobs. Because of the connection speed it's way easier. It gets frustrating with the dial up at home, but the condo assn. makes it difficult to get highspeed without investing in wireless technology.

I check one other beer board and a NJ Devils forum pretty regularly. But I really only post on this one...

I love this board. Been a member since way back in 2002, but I'm not as nearly a prolific poster as some of you! This is the only board I post on, although I check another one pretty regularly for specific beer notes and ratings. I've conducted several trades with members here, and I'm so thankful for this board introducing me to fellow beer lovers and giving me the chance to try beers from around the country that I would normally not get to try!

I read reviews and brewers notes at other sites BA, AHBS, etc. but I must agree...They guys on this board seem more like the type Id enjoy shooting pool and drinking beer with.. down to earth, intelligent ,serious "mad scientist" mentality..with good humour....Feels like old friends.
