View Full Version : Beer and Bike
I am in search of a book that lists bike trails and microbreweries. The gentleman who told me about the book couldn't remember the name. Can you help me?

Is this what you had in mind?

Thank you for the info on the Beer and Biking book. Since our members are beer distributors, I am sure this will be of much interest to them!

Welcome to the boards!
And what do you mean, "our members"? What do you do, and what part of the country are you in?
I am the director of Public Affairs for the Associated Beer Distributors of Illinois...we represent all Illinois beer distributors.

COOL! Can you still get Huber Dark beer in a cool case? :D I've been trying to lay my hands on that stuff for EVER now... they don't ship to Colorado OR Tennessee anymore!
Where are you from? I have heard of that particular beer (I don't think there is one I haven't heard of or tasted at some point) and will see what I can do for you. I attended a World Beer Expo in Chicago last year (for media purposes) but when my job was finished, I tasted every beer there! Needless to say, I had to take a cab back to the hotel...

I'm in Nashville now. Huber/Berghoff is in Monroe, Wisconsin. The beer is drinkable, the bottles are reusable, and the boxes are WONDERFUL for homebrew!
Hmm...they don't sell it in Nashville hey? Do you want me to see if I can get my hands on some and send it to you?

See what info you can get for me... I'm a little strapped, and I dont want to say "Yes, I'll buy some from you" just yet until I get a few more work days under my belt, ok? But I very much appreciate the effort! Maybe I'll send you some homebrew at some point (when I don't have an infected batch)...
Good idea not sending me an infected batch! Ha! I'll check it out and see what all is involved in getting some to you. By the way, what do you do?

Well, I USED to be a bass player, and I hope to be again soon. I think when I move back to CO things will be looking up for me... in the meantime, I work at a restaurant. Nothing to write home about.
Good luck with your bass playing! Colorado is a beautiful state...been there many times. Nice chatting with you and when I find something out about that beer, I will let you know!

Fret, I don't know if you've heard, but Huber is stopping their use of returnable bottles. I don't know whether the new bottles will be twist-offs or not.

Maybe you can get some Steven's Point cases?

Well, SOMEBODY'S got to have those old boxes, don't they? I think I'd even be interested in the boxes themselves.... pretty stout and COOL!

When I used to brew years ago, I used Straub 16 oz brown bottles. They had excellent cardboard boxes as well. Straub is a regional in St. Marys, PA.
