I have to post about my line-up tonight. First up to bat is a beer that is a cooperative effort between two OK brewers (Choc and Marshall) called Wild-Brew which is a Belgian-Style IPA. Next up is going to be Avery's The Reverend (Quad). Finally in the three-hole is going to be Urthel's Quadrium Ale Samaranth. It is going to be hard to put the two Quads head-to-head since I love them both...but I am really liking the flavor of the Wild-Brew. The Belgian-style IPA is kinda new to me, but I am not a big IPA fan.

So I held the Wild-Brew for last and put the two Quads first...and I would have to say that the Reverend was the one I liked best. It was lighter color-wise and had a flavor that I would describe as more delicate. The alcohol punch wasn't quite as overt as with the Samaranth and when the Reverend poured down my throat there was a transcendent moment where I felt as though I was getting exactly what the brewers wanted me to get out of this beer. I enjoyed both and will enjoy both again...and by no means do I consider myself a "professional taster." And, as for the Wild-Brew, it will be a great conclusion to this night. I would encourage all realbeer.com posters to try and find a Choc beer and give it a run. As I said before, their Dubbel was a gold medal winner in the '09 GABF and their Quad was a Silver in the World Beer Cup.
