Hey Guys. I think a site like this would be useful for you to sign up and post your recipes and trade with others. I am thinking about writing something like this and hosting it at home.

My question is, would you use it?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Nice but wow. There is a file for each recipe. Bad use of space. I think I might write something that allows you to rate them, discuss them etc. I might be bouncing ideas off of you guys from time to time.

I use Beersmith, and would like to find a site other than the beersmith.com site to get recipes to import. Sorry to hijack your thread.

Oh no... we don't allow questions to be asked of us. Besides, who here has the time to give their opinion on anything? ;)

I don't find that a hijacking in the least! I'll have to check them out.

Anyone want to throw me an idea for a name for the site?

How about "The Mash Pit"?

or

"Julia Child's other kitchen"

i registered RelaxHaveAHomebrew.com yesterday and would be happy to share the domain name and/or hosting space to such a worthy project! the plan was to use it as a personal brewing site, but the name would be appropriate for a more universal informational site.

For now I am going to host it at home. However, if the traffic grows to where I can't handle it and don't have the bandwidth for it, I would definitely take you up on that offer. Please make sure that the server that you have your site on supports ASP.NET 1.1.

If you use the Mash Pit you may have to consider some artwork of Hawkeye Pierce (or a good facsimile... don't get yourself sued, now) hoisting a beer instead of a martini in front of the Swamp... whatcha think? :)

hmmm...that would be a negative on the ASP .NET ...i'm hosting on Linux servers. bah!
