Florida ( BEERS )

Any one out there know of some beers that are brewed in fla, or are available locally that would put a grin on my face.:cool:

The Ybor Brewing Co in Tampa has a few decent beers. Calusa Wheat is a good, light summertime brew; Ybor Gold is good but not great; Ybor Brown Ale is quite good. They also do a winter seasonal, Gasparilla Ale, that is good (but hard to find, I didn't see it anywhere this year so I'm not sure they even made it this winter).

My biggest complaint while I lived in Florida besides the ants and humidity, was the lack of really good beer. I agree with the previous post, Ybor brews some good stuff.
Here's what I recommend for BrewPubs: Big River at Disney's Boardwalk complex in Orlando (no admission is required). The brewer there a couple of years ago was so good, I stole her away and now we live in Oregon. BUT, the current brewer is excellent, and he offers an a good IPA, a great Red ale, and a good seasonal Brown Ale (winter). They really know beer there.
If you wander over to Orange Blossom Trail and Oak Ridge in Orlando, there's a pizza place called Rossi's that will blow you away. This unassuming, modest-looking green building goes unnoticed by some, but their beer tap selection is killer. They favor Shipyard beers (Old Thumper ESB is VERY tasty), and also offer beers from the Rogue (Oregon), Anchor Steam, etc. They take their beer very seriously, and you cannot beat their prices. Try the wings, too--they're the best outside of Upstate NY.
In the St. Augustine/Jacksonville area, try A1A--they're in St.A., and if their beer doesn't blow you away, their AMAZING menu will. Ragtime is another good brewpub with a killer menu. In Jacksonville, try Seven Bridges--excellent brews.
In Miami, try Gordon Biersch--if you don't usually do lagers, they'll change your mind--that's all they do. The Marzen rocks and the Dunkles is worth a try--again, the food menu is incredible here too.
