Anybody know much about this ale? I had a bottle of it on New Year's Eve. Light, fruity, & very effervescent.
Either I am not a trippel fan, or this was the wrong beer to have with a bowl of chili. Not really that bad, just didn't go with that kind of food.
What's the ABV? It seemed kinda high.

According to:

It's 8.2%

I don't think I'd drink a complex beer with spicy food.

My curiorisity got the best of me. I enjoy most of Bell's products, so I thought I would give it a whirl.

I understand. I love Bell's beer! I just think it's tough to enjoy the taste of a beer while eating spicy food. Maybe it's just me, but spicy food really kills my palate.

Actually, if I would have read the fine print & found out it was a trippel, I would have passed on to something else. It was written in very fine print on the label.
I assumed that it was a pale ale. Next time I'll adjust my bifocals & read the fine print. Like I said before, it wasn't that bad. Similar to Great Lakes Anniversry Ale, without the some the alcohol bite. It was very effervescent & one would think that they used champagne yeast.

I've found a good IPA goes well with spicy foods; really cuts through the spice (same for deep-fried). The hoppier the better!

That a great idead BluesHarp! The next time I have something spicy, I'll try an extremely hoppy beer with it. It makes sense that the strength of the hops could overcome the spiciness. Maybe a SN Celebration...
