Hi Guys,
Sorry but this is a re-post (I had it in another section and UndergradBrewin suggested this was a better place. He's probably right)
I took a leap of faith and I decided to try to re-use some yeast right in the original primary.
Last week I brewed a strong Belgian that I had a Wyeast 1214 starter for. The beer went well, and on Friday I racked it to my secondary: I tasted it, and it tasted great so far, lots of alcohol, all was well. I then pitched a new wort for a lighter pale Belgian right on top of the old yeast. I did some heavy duty aeration and let it sit. After 24 hours I had a little action...not the 2 inch high kreusen ring, but a smaller, thinner, lower one about 3/4 inch thick from the top of the beer. I don't know if it's stalled, weak or right on track.
Did I screw up by re-using after a high Gravity Beer?
Should I just let nature take it's course and leave it?
Suggestions?
