I have a friend new to brewing who used 2lbs of Roasted barly in the grain bill on a partial mash for a wee heavy. I think he confused oz with lbs. I told him it would probably turn his pee black. What can he expect for appearance and taste?

It might test his gag reflex.:D This last weekend two of my friends came over and the three of us brewed a quintuple batch. My 10 gallon batch was a oatmeal stout and had 6 oz. of roasted barley in the grain bill. A sample going into the primaries tasted great and wouldn't want to imagine what over ten times that (I take it he was doing a 5 gal batch?) would have produced.

It will probably taste very similar to eating espresso grounds...straight. No water.
I would consider brewing another batch to mix it with. Perhaps an ordinary bitter.
