What are these In-line Filters used for . It seems for kegging, but can they also be used when bottling ?

You wouldn't want to use the inline filters for bottling because they would filter the yeast out and you want the yeast to carbonate your beer with. Since most people who keg force carbonate from a co2 tank, yeast is not an issue for keggers.

Thanks for the input. I forgot about the Carbination part when bottling. I new there was a reason why people were not using these for that.

You can also get filters that are large enough to allow the yeast to pass but will still get a good portion of the "gunk" out of the beer and help clarify it.

The filters are used in kegging, since you have CO2 under pressure to push the beer from one keg through the filter to an empty keg.

Since you can then bottle the filtered beer using a counter-pressure bottle filler, you essentially accomplish the same thing.

In-line filters could also be used when moving beer around with a pump.
