Just wanted to thank everyone here for so much good advice. We had been using minimal equipment for extract brewing (until our plastic fermenting bucket sprang a leak), but because of what I read here I decided NOT to skimp and go for the extra glass carboy, go for the wort chiller, use a good sanitizer, etc., etc., etc. when I bought a whole new system for Christmas.

You've got that! Of course I got home from work today and my husband was all excited, led the way to the basement, and showed me the fermenting London Porter! WAAAAA! I didn't even get to watch :(

Wednesday we went to Orsheln's (a farm and home store in town) and found a porcelin lined turkey fryer for $29.00! He said that really helped.

We are planning the next batch as I write! And I'm gonna do it!
