As for the Hopheads out there Come out to CA, you wont think hops are used in the East Coast at all. Beers 120 IBUs are common. Double IPA fest at the Bistro in Hayward first weekend in February. more than 40 Imperial Ipa's.

1. "Back in a Flash" Hambledon (Home on Swale, ENG)
2. "Bitter & Twisted" Harviestoun (Dollar, SCO)
3. "Our Special Ale" Anchor (San Francisco, USA)
4. "Santa's Sledghammer" Cairngorm (Aviemore, SCO)
5. "Helles Lager" Fordham (Annapolis, USA)
That's just off the top of my head. I'd probably change it 10 minutes from now.

I agree. Too many to list. And I would probably change my list as soon as I wrote it down.

I agree with the west coast hop fascination - lots of tasty gems. But I've also had some that had hops simply for hops sake. Not good, imo. Balance is key, grasshopper.
And though there are plenty of malt-heavy brews out here, I can think of plenty of hop monsters that hail from the east coast.
One brewery, in particular, grabbed my attention last year - Bear Republic. Hop Rod Rye is a new fave and the Red Rocket was an interesting take on a Scotch Ale. Still have a Big Bear Black in the cellar and access to other varieties.
Cheers!

Ah, forget about East and West coasts. The Third coast here in the Midwest churns out the best brews, like Three Floyds in Indiana. ;)

Hell Yeah! Got the Pats jersey, Michigan hat, Samuel Adams Boston Ale and my Saint Arnold pint glass ready to go. (Note: St. Arnold is a brewery in Houston - site of the Superbowl. I'm a little superstitious!)
GO PATS!

GO PATS!
All you need now is to find a cowboy hat that you can fit a Pats toboggan cap on and wear it the whole game! :D
(Why a Mich. cap? What'd I miss?)

I have to pull for the Panthers a little bit more, just because they're NFC, you know... and if they lose, that means that the Seahawks really WERE the worst team in the playoffs this year! :(

Hehehe! Don't see many ten gallons in this neck of the woods.
Why Michigan? Check below my username. I'm a HUGE Wolverines fan and since the leaders on offense (Tom Brady) and defense (Ty Law) are UM alums, it seems right.
Cheers!

Actually, a ten-gallon hat only holds about 3 liters....
Didn't know about Tom and Ty... makes sense now! So, get a Michigan Took to put on it instead!
