I tried a couple of plastic brown bottles as an experiment on monitoring carbonation in bottle conditioning . How long will beer stay tasty and carbonated in plastic bottle conditioned beer?

Beer will stay carbonated in plastic bottles much longer than it will stay good. Oxidation is the issue with plastic: oxygen will travel through plastic and into the beer. I've had beer in plastic for a month with no serious problems, though.
