I basically wanted more bounce to the ounce when I was younger.Malt liqouers, the bull was a big favorite of mine. then one day I wandered in to a small little irish pub in northampton ma.What was that dark stuff coming from the tap?Ahh Guinness Stout, did'nt like at first, but I loved the half and half and black and tan, the rest is history.

That's kind of funny, since I have grown up (basically) in a state where it's extremely difficult to find any "real" beer at all, as I get older and more adventurous (more mentally than physically) I find myself looking for the extremes. Guess you have to have a point of reference, and I still havent found mine..

Yes, I totally agree. I remember a time when I didn't really like blue cheese, or really sharp cheddar. Now I love the stuff, and readily search it out for the experience. I still like a good swiss, or something with less flavor occasionally, but I thrive on the lingering bitterness, that keeps me tasting cheese for a while after I swallow.
I feel the same about hops!

I'm from Wisconsin, need I say more? :D Most of our residents are German or Irish, I'm at least 50% beer.
