Everyone around me is sick, wife, kids, people at work. So I wonder does the vitamins in the beer plus the effect of alcohol as I have now refered to as antifreeze keeping me from getting sick?

Thats my theory and Im sticking with it. I am the only one who hasnt gotten sick (knock on wood.) It has to be the beer.

Well I got the flu shot but I have often thought that your theory is correct. I get sick far less than those around me and I have attributed it to the Vitamin B and the alcohol in beer. (I also take a mega vitamin supplement each day. ) This might all be in my head but I don't care because it seems to work.

Why is it that the alcohol doesn't kill the B vitamins in the yeast at the bottom of a homebrew? I always thought that alcohol and vitamins didn't get along...

I'll remove that sump pump I have inserted into my wife's esophagus, then... she told me she hates the stuff, but she's obviously LYING.....

The alcohol does not affect the vitamins for me. Remember I had the operation in Morrocco.

You may or may not be kidding (I missed some of the banter on this from earlier posts), so enlighten me: Is there such an operation that would make you less affected by alcohol? I hate to ruin the good fun we're having, but curiosity got the best of me, and I just HAVE to know...

I had an operation to insert a device into my throat that neutralizes alchohol while I was in Morrocco. Just kidding That is a line from an episode of an old TV show. Can anyone guess where it came from?

Just a guess.... Get Smart?

It was probably before my time, then... ;)
in BCBs the alcohol doesn't kill the vitamin b, because the yeast is still in suspension.
i can't recall the name of the tv show, chaz, but i seem to recall the line.

WHAT DO I WIN, WHAT DO I WIN?!!?:D
I don't care as long as it comes in a package with the words "Yeast Cultures For Evaluation" on it! I think 2 "cultures" should do! ;->

I'm very sick, got a swollen throat and runny nose. Its not very fun, and when i'm sick I don't drink beer. Damn, I hope I get over this soon. :( Ive been taking vitamin C and drinking some beer but alas, it wasn't enough. God decided to give me a bad holiday cold. Peace, HN-

YOU'RE KIDDING! I thought I was the world's authority on M*A*S*H. I can't remember him saying that at all! Do you remember which episode? Boy, do I feel foolish....

Have you ever tasted M*A*S*H beer? I believe it was made by the Falstaff conglomerate.

DAMN! I didn't get my answer in, in time! And I could have named Flagg as the patient too!
In college my dorm room was called the Swamp and I drank more gin than I ever want to talk about! Can't stand the sight of it any more. Sorry Chaz, M*A*S*H was an all-time favorite - and no, never tried the beer, but I think you're correct about it being brewed by Fallstaff - in Indiana at the time I believe.

I'm pretty sure it was one of the later episodes he appeared in Fret, I think he was doing his best to impress Radar and Klinger at the time, but it's been a long time since I've watched the re-runs - I think I quit watching just in time to not be burned out by them and still have warm memories of the show!

You are right Steveh. I liked the show when it was on. It was the reruns that killed it and other series for me. I never tasted the beer either.

MASH used to be on channel 9 in Denver every night, right after 9news at 10. Used to be the last thing I did before going to bed. STILL love that show... can't believe I have no recollection of a comment from a CIA man who tells people he's with the CID just so they'll think he's with the CIC. Hilarious!

Flagg's character was a high spot of the show.

Flagg - one of the best repeat cameo characters in the history of television!
"Do you believe that I could kill you with my pinkie finger?"
"Oddly enough...I...I do!"
or something like that....LOVED MASH before they got pretentious. The first 3 seasons were the best!
