 I have maybe a barleywine style brew that I was thinking of diluting with water to thin it a bit,and make an APA It just looks like its very thick. I dryhopped it Saturday, and the hops are kindda sorta in suspension I lost the syphon and only got around 4.5 gallons instead of 5.Please tell me if i am wasting my time or how to add water. It is in the secondary now and i hope to bottle Saturday. Please any ideas welcome thanks.

What was the OG and the FG? Most of the time it's a real PITA to make a good barleywine. Rather suggest you bottle this as a barleywine cut back on your malt or extract a bit, and make another batch or six that's an APA to hold yourself over until the barleywine is properly aged and ready to impress some beer geeks.

What is the current gravity?
Regardless, I would not recommend diluting.

I don't know exactly my hydrometer jar broke. The OG was ~1.090ish.
