Does anyone have a recipe for Belgian Table beer.
It is a family beverage that can be imbibed by all members of the family because of it's low ABV including school children.

there was a recipe for tafelbier in a recent Zymurgy issue. it was a Jamil recipe I think. I'll see if I can find it and post it when I get home

I am thinking it will be a nice summer drink without the intoxication and the bloating. One should be able to drink it all day. Quite refreshing!
Tea is nice, but beer is better.

I was think table beer could be just that, something nice to go with food without overpowering or distracting

hey! i found a site with the recipe and a bit of discussion as well.
My apologies to Drew Beechum who was the author of the article, not Jamil

from the post:
Recipe suggests to collect 1st gallon of runnings and boil to reduce by half to build caramels.
That is something I've been wanting to try for a decoction-substitution

Have y'all ever actually tried Belgian table beer?
It's not very good, in my opinion at least. Overly sweet or just plain bland.

In fact, it's sold in Belgian schools. Imagine if they tried that here.

never tried it - I do like english milds and bitters and just figured it would be similar
I have never had Belgian table beer, but I have had what they call "home beer" in Finland. It's a good beverage but doesn't taste much like beer at all.
