Ok i finally got to put the tap on my first TAD ! my question is this...the little hose that i think should be fastened to the back of the tap looks as if its been broken off, i mean it has a plastic piece on 1 end that looks as if it should fit in hole on the back of the tap for co2 to travel through. when i insert it and try to screw on tap it falls right out and as a matter of fact is in the bottom of the bottle right now i went ahead and tapped an screwed on co2 cartridge , saw a burst of air go into bottle so i think its working ok.......anyone elses TAD come like this or maybe morebeer broke it off on purpose because its unnecessary? any comments on this?

mine has the little hose still attached. I am not sure if it is necessary, prehaps with force carbonating it may be a little better because it would run the gas through the solution rather than just adding head pressure. I dunno. I would ask them to send you a new one and then send that back once you get it.

yeah, toney is right. If it is the clear tube with a small washer/weight on one end, that is your beer tube.
TAD repair kits can be bought cheaply here

for $3.50 you get all 3 o-rings and a new dip tube.
I had to order one when I accidentally washed one of the o-rings down the sink when cleaning.

Yep, waste no time, get some beer in there!! Meanwhile, order the replacement kit or run down to the local aquarium mart and get parts to fix it with. That way, when you finish this batch, you can perform the repair with no downtime.
