Dry ice is solid Co2
Could you drop a little piece into a beer bottle, fill it , cap it and drink a carbonated beer in a day?

you would need to have a precise amount of dry ice, otherwise you will have exploding bottles. Even so, I think (bs alert) that you might end up with high PSI in the bottle until the newly evaporated gas can disolve into the beer (a couple days).
on a related note, you can make your own dry ice... just open up your co2 tank as if you were going to empty it. the drop in pressure will drop the temperature inside the tank enough so that a significant amount of dry ice will form inside the tank. The only problem is that there is now way of getting the dry ice out of the tank. :)

Dry ice is really nothing to be using as a play toy. I may be corrected, but temps around -120 are needed to keep it from melting so to speak. It does need to be handled with some care.

yeah. I will try this if I can with little effort. In reality I am super lazy and there are a few things on my todo list before this one. However when I finally get around to it I will do so as safely as possible :D
