dry hopping

I am putting a batch of beer into the secondary the day before going on vacation for 2 1/2 weeks. This batch calls for dry hopping, but I typically wait until about a week before bottling. Should I add the hops before I go or after I get back and just wait a week to bottle.

By all means, throw them in now. You'll get more flavor and aroma the longer the hops stay in the beer.
