Kegging 100% go!

I finally got everything together today for kegging! The morons I originally took my co2 tank too still hadn't filled it by this morning, so I took it somewhere else where they filled it in about 5 minutes. I got that home and connected all my tubing (tossing the plastic hose clamps and opting to buy the metal/screw-tight ones) The whole system mangaed to be leak free, so I put some star san in a corney to test it (while cleaning my lines at the same time.

It took a few tries to get the corney lid to seal properly and not leak, but eventually I got it just right. I let it pressurize and then dispensed some sanitizer from my taps (I was pretty jazzed at this point, though my girlfriend wasn't too exited about me dipsensing water... she just didn't get the point of "IT WORKS!)

Anyway, I'm leaving the star san in there for a few days until I'm ready to keg my black-and tan, which should be ready by Monday or Tuesday.

That's one thing I can say about my wife, she at least plays along with me a bit when I get excited about things working right.

I remember that first keg day, ain't it great?!?

Make sure the lid gasket is wet, then give it about 30lbs pressure to help seat the lid, then bleed it off to your serving pressure.

My wife gets more excited than I do about a new keg in the fridge. She is definitely the one who drinks most of the brews in this house.
