It's far from fixed... :(

It seems to be a general attack on PHP3 boards. We have two of our own and the amount of bot registrations in the past 3 days is ENORMOUS. We just changed the sign-up procedure so people must be activated by hand by a moderator. That way nobody can slip in and we'll delete the 10 pages of dead accounts after the attack.

Okee folks, the admins are doing their best to take care of this situation. Sounds like "human verification" of new members is the track they're taking -- and that's not something mods have access to.

But let me just ask that everyone stop reporting these posts -- we see them when they appear and the reports are bogging down my own, personal e-mail.

If one of these pops up within an already started thread, feel free to report that, but not the new threads.

Just reading a correspondence from one of the admins, if you can all keep reporting the new robot I.Ds here as they come up, it's a good place for the admins to find out who needs to be blocked from the site.

Also, there's no need to reply to them as there aren't any humans to read your anger or sarcasm. It's screaming into the wind.

Meantime, let's all practice our patience.

Because they have caller ID and will now have your (our) number and that will probably spawn a tele-marketing attack on your line. And because you called them first, I believe that loop holes in as "permission" for them to call you, even if you're on a no-call list.
