Any quick & thorough ways to get commercial labels off. I find some to be pretty stubborn.

Warm water with some bleach or PBW in it worked for me.

Try a little TSP and bleach. Here's my formula for clean, sanitized bottles:

I gal. water
3 tbsp. TSP
1 tbsp. unscented bleach

Soak for 48 hours and the labels will slide right off. Also, anything stuck at the bottom of the bottle will come out, too. Rinse them REALLY WELL when you're done, ok?

I set all the bottles I was gonna do (usually between 30 and 35 at a time) in my utility tub, filled it up with warm water to where the labels on the necks were covered, and added 1 1/4 cups of ammonia. Waited 24 hours or so, and most of the labels were floating in the water. There were still some I had to scrape off a little bit, but I had good success this way.:)

I just put the bottles in warm soap and water overnight. I've found they just slide off. I've started saving the labels for whatever reason.

All of the above & a little elbow grease with a Scotchbrite pad usually do the trick.

BAKING SODA:

A 1/4 cup of baking soda added with whatever else you are using has helped me in lots of cleaning jobs. It's great for getting the goo off with a doobie pad also. We keep an old plastic spice jar with a shaker top next to the sink filled with baking soda because we use it so often to help clean.

Just spent a couple hours doing this last night. Warm water and oxyclean. I never have the foresight to soak anything for 24 hours.

12 to 24 hrs in what started out as hot water & bleach and these Sam Adams labels still took a bunch of scrapeing & scrubbing. I was hoping for something a bit quicker and with less effort.

I'm telling you, go and get some TSP from Home Depot or something. Your labels will be floating at the top of the mixture in no time! (Buy some rubber gloves at the same time... this stuff's pretty caustic.)

I did a six pack of Bellhaven St. Andrews Scottish Ale bottles last night, they peeled right off.
