Who orders from whom? There are lots of people (including me) who would like to get into ordering stuff online, but we don't know who's good and who to avoid. So here's your chance to place an "ad" (rather, a personal endorsement) for your favorite OHBS (Online HomeBrew Store). Go ahead and add a link - this could be a cool "bookmark thread" with a lot of great stores listed. (Besides, my wife wants to get me an auto siphon for Christmas and has no idea where to go, and I have no idea what to tell her...)
Go on! Put your mouth where your money goes! (Or something like that...) Leave a link! You can direct people who want to give you gifts this year to this thread, too!

www.paddockwood.com - has all the usual stuff, a great selection of ingrediants and great staff.
They have three types of beer kits. all grain, extract and another where they do an all grain mash and boil for you and send you the wort and yeast. If you are not sure about getting into all grain, give one of these a try to sample the results.

Lately I have been ordering exclusively from Austin...you can't beat free shipping.
I made thier Fat Tire Amber ale clone a onth or so-ago, it's carbonating in bottles now, but I have been sampling it...
It is DAMN good!!!!
By far the best Amber Ale I have made, or tasted for that matter.
I highly recommend it, and I will continue to keep them on hand.
I have never tasted the original, can't get it in Utah, but if it's anything like the clone from AHS, it's some seriously good stuff.

www.homebrewersupply.com has good prices for grains and hop pellets.
www.morebeer.com has everything and good prices and free shipping
www.midwestsupplies.com can be pricey but puts together some great recipes IMO. I love their porter.
I always shop around but seem to use these 3 the most.
And good ol' ebay occationally has some good finds.

They have great prices, shipping is very fast, and the customer service is great. Usually when I order something from them, I get it the next day. I use their forum alot too.

Grape & Granery ( grapeandgranery.com ) fast shipping, decent prices, extensive selection of most consumables, VERY DETAILED CATALOGUE with lots of helpful info on everything. Very good "kits", most with lots of speciallty grains and DME instead of liquid. Nice selection of all grain "kits" also.
I also like Northern Brewer and others
My LHBS is Beer & Wine Hobby which is also on line, nice people to do business with.

Austin Homebrew and St. Pat's are my local shops. I quit going to St. Pat's unless I couldn't get what I was looking for at AHS. At AHS, the guys are knowledgeable and courteous. My *only* complaint about AHS has been that their web catalogue is very sparse. I got used to St. Pat's website with all the pictures and the detailed recipes. I have not ordered any brewing equipment or supplies online, AHS has kept me pretty happy.

Austin Homebrew...Homebrew Headquarters...E.C. Kraus has some great deals.
Lately a guy here in Texarkana has some good supplies, so I have been going to his place...it's a back room at his spice shop.

www.beerathome.com These guys are my local shop and the best stocked homebrew shop I have ever been to. They have every kind of grain, hop and yeast you could ask for. They also have converted kegs, used cornies (3, 5 and 10 gallon) and all the keg parts too. Plus they are really nice guys. It really is my home away from home. :)

I've been going exclusively to AHS. That said, I've thought about at least visiting St Pat's the next time I'm in Austin. I've seen some really great deals online, but in the end I don't want a box full of 50 airlocks (although they are really cheap). Has anyone been to both, they can comment? I called St Pat's one time and they weren't too friendly. I really like the prices and free shipping at AHS, so I'm going to stick with them.

A few guys on here have had bad experiences with St Pats. Also, note that they no longer carry brewing ingredients.

They are here in the Ozarks which is one reason I chose them, but their friendly helpfulness will bring me back!

If you don't have a "Local" HBS then, like me, I order online. If ya want it fast, use one closest to you. I have been using Leener's Brew Works in Ohio (near Cleveland) and shipping is fast and prices are good. www.leeners.com (http://) I don't like having to lose $ in shipping but it would be gas money anyways. -DRWeaver

The only time i ordered online was when I bought my first starter kit from Northern Brewer. Guess I can't complain, quick delivery, no broken glass, and yeast and hops still cool from the ice packs. Now I just go to the HBS.

My fave is Midwest Supplies in St. Louis Park, MN. I only live about 15 miles away, so I go into the store instead of mail order, although I did have them ups me some stuff once and it came the next day. They will even supply a free "how to" video that covers extract, partial, all grain and even wine making. Very helpful staff with a help line you can call during business hours for any questions.

I may have just found a new supplier, I havent checked it all out yet but the hops varieties are incredible and the minimal order for free shipping is 35$ east of the Miss river anyway.

Howdy All-
Since my closest "LHBS" is 75 miles away, mailorder is extremely important to me.
The bulk of my online ordering is done thru
www.listermann.com (Cinci, Ohio).
As mentioned, they have free shipping east of the Mississippi river for orders over $35. The shop is run by Dan Listermann, a serious homebrewer who is also an inventor...PhilMill etc. If you've been on this or any other BeerBoard for any length of time, you've read his posts. Overnight to me every time! (Eastern Kentucky)
Other noteable suppliers I've had all good experiences with-
Austin Homebrew Supply.
Northern Brewer
Annapolis Homebrew Supply

The Grape & Granary of Akron, OH.
John Pastor & staff have been the most helpful answering any questions to any homebrewing problems. They just moved to a new location on Home Ave. The facility is licensed to make wine on premises. You can try their finished products first before buying any kits. They are in the process of getting licensing to do howmbrewing, also.
Hats off to them!
