And you can save $10.50 if you buy the all-grain kit!!!

That price is without yeast!! Plus they won't even tell you what hops are in it, which is probably what drives the price up.

Well, I've got the Pliny recipe somewhere, if you want it. this directly from Vinny himself.

I think that you need to get ahold of Forrest and ask him what's up with this.
I don't care whit beer your cloning, that's insane.

I dunno - that works out to about $14 per sixpack, if you figure a five gallon batch = 48 12-ounce beers. That's still a little high, but not completely unheard of for a really big beer.
And if you think in terms of bombers, that's $4.67 per 22-once bottle, and that's hardly out of the park for a really special brew in a retail store.
If I were a little more flush these days, I might try this kit, but Times being what they are, I have to settle for recipes that come out to $60 or less.

That cost is hard to justify for any type of brew. Obviously the hops are a huge component of the price, but you'd think they'd find a way to reduce cost.

The recipe floating around on the internet (supposedly provided by Vinnie) calls for 16.75oz of hops. You should be able to buy those from Freshops for about $40. And there is maybe $10 of grain.

I pretty much have the grain bill on hand, but the hops I don't.
markaberrant, is right though the hops shouldn't be that High even with AHS's mark up.

Well if you ask me, for that price someone should be brewing the beer for me. Butt load of hops or not, count me out!

Shyeah! Has anyone EVER bought this kit? That's nuts!
I already felt like AHS was overpriced, but now I think they've lost their minds! ...respectfully.

No thanks. I can brew 15 gallons of double IPA for that price.
