I was in the mood for a good beer when I remembered that I had some of last year's Black Choc. Stout in my cellar. A year later it is still very good. The hops have mellowed out to allow the warm toasted nut flavor come through nicely with some malty sweetness. I feel sorry for you beer lovers that can not get this fine brew. Lucky for me that Santa brings me a sixer or two every Christmas. Gives me something to look forward to.
BEER CAN BE FOOD, BUT FOOD CAN NEVER BE BEER.

i just put some of this year's batch in my basement. is this bottle conditioned? i'm thinking its not, so not sure how long it'll hold up. anyway, good to know it'll be good next year at least!

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout has 8.5 % ABV so it'll hold up for a number of years. But I wouldn't recommend cellaring any Imperial stouts for very long due to them usually having fairly low carbonation and small hop profiles.
The only thing I've noticed with aged BBCS is the chocolate tones seem deeper and longer with age.
As fresh it seems more like Young's Luxury Double Chocolate which only has 5% and has got nothin' on BBCS IMO.
One of my all time favorite chocolate beers I trade for every fall!!
Great stuff!
