Best wishes to anyone dealing with the snow in the NE US today! Four hour drive home for me last night.
I planned on going out to buy some more holiday beers today, but instead I think I'll refrigerate some of those old homebrews I've still got from last winter.
How's everyone else dealing?

This was a weird one. We had about 7 inches of snow at my home but my office which is 16 miles away has 2. Made for hazardous driving conditions last night after our office Holiday party at a local pub. Good thing I only had 3 Guinness. My wife was i'll and could not attend so I had no DD.

The panic button was pushed by the weather birds in Chicago last week, but we dodged the storm that was supposed to drop 3 - 6 inches on us.
It's actually pretty pleasant here today, but that's no good with a Packkers/Bears matchup on the horizon - we need cold and snow for the "Frozen Tundra!"

Same here steveh! They were forecasting up to 15" of the white stuff but I think we'll be lucky to get half that. And my Pats have the Dolphins in town tomorrow. I hope those South Beach boys brought their long underwear! :p
I hit the packie yesterday for plenty of Redhook Winterhook (love the Cascade dryhopping this year!) and bombers of Smuttynose Scotch Ale.
Cheers!

Well at this point they are not calling for much in the Syracuse area. All I know is blizzard is a normal state of being for us, we get confused when it doesn't snow.

We ain't got chit in MN! Got a new snowmobuggy last year and only put 500 mi on it...most of that in April. I wish those darn Texans would refrain from coming to MN during the winter months...they make driving a living nightmare! My usual commute to and from work is 20 min (25 if the weather is really bad)...last Thurs. I got stuck behind a line of cars while we were having a few flurries and it took me 30 min to go 5 miles! Finally got up to a section that splits into four lanes and there was a minivan from Texas doing about 20 mph in a 65 mph zone!!! You should have seen his tires spinning...like he had slicks on! I want a good 12 - 16 inches soon.

wortchillergoal, it seemed to be snowing pretty steadily after the Notre Dame Syracuse game in the Dome. We decided not to drink after the game (even though half of my group, including me, the Notre Dame fans could have used it) We went to the pregame tailgate down at the OnCenter, wasn't a bad little time. Tough season for my Irish, I didn't expect the Orangemen to win this one, but they did.

I will agree it was steady but nothing major for our area. I wondered if this game was a tough one for you. I know you are big ND fan but I figure you might pull a little for SU when not playing the Irish,

Blizzard??? Isn't that one of those things that you get at a Dairy Queen? I am sitting here in the sunshine and kind of cool but pleasant mid-60's! Best wishes to all of you having to deal with the weather of the northern climes!

OK, so I was wrong. We ended up with at least a foot here in RI. Some spots north of Boston got nearly 3 feet!!! I was right about the Fins though. The Pats showed them how cold weather ball is played. I tip my hat to the 50,000 that showed up in the snowstorm and sat in snowbanks (as their seats were buried under 18" of snow) to support their team.
Best sign in the stands: Todays Special - Frozen Fish! :p Go Pats!

It was a tough one for sure, I bleed the gold and the blue. I've been waiting for this game at home for two years, I would have enjoyed it more if it didn't seem like our boys gave up. I've been to a couple this year, none of which left me with a good feeling...but the tailgates before hand were grand ;) I'll be in South Bend in 2005 for the next meeting! I guess I'll have to wait till the Irish come to the Dome for hoops in feb. for any sort of immediate gratification.

Snow..that's a white cold thing isn't it?
J/K .. I have lived in Utah, D.C., and other Northern areas so I sympathize with ya'll and the weather.
It's nice down here in Texas...around 60 and sunny.
I'll put my head in the freezer for awhile so I can relate....

Aye, this almost blizzard like for us. I too am glad to be inside with a beer in hand though. It seems like our neighbors are taking longer to get their winter driving brains in gear this year.

wortchillergoal, I was down in Armory Square last night, did a little Pastabillities and then to the Blue Tusk, I really like the Tusk (lots o' great brews on tap). I'm going to have some family and friend out on the Friday after Christmas (at night) at Colemans Irish Pub, why don't you and some of your family and or friends join us for a pint or two...
