How many of you fellow beer lovers enjoy fine cigars (ie the hand rolled kind)? If you do, whats your favorite cigar?

I myself really dont have a favorite cigar - I tend to like heavier cigars - but will find myself smoking a decent light cigar every now and then. Just about 30 minutes ago I had a Padron cigar that I let age for about 6 months in my humidor - probably the most awesome cigar I have ever had. I recommend them to anyone who enjoys cigars - just let them age a little, as they are much better that way.

P.S. I didnt know where to put this post, and I thought this was the best place - please excuse me if it isnt.

i like acid cigars / kuba kuba / one / and the nastys are my faves.
also i like arturo fuenties (sp?) the short stories.
but i find they screw up my pallate when trying to enjoy a good brew ..plus they can be more exspensive then a drug habbit , so i don't enjoy them as much as i used to. beer is costing me too much as it is , if i got back in to cigars i'd really be out of budget, oh also i like camaroon wraps. but like i said i stay away.

After 25 years of abusing tobacco in all smokable forms, I am glad to say that I quit having anything to do with it nearly 6 years ago!

Padron are good. You like the maduro or EMS wrapper? I prefer a full-bodied smoke myself also.

I'm a cheap ass, so I get my cigars from jrcigars.com and I usually get the JR Cuban Alternative in a 6x 49 corona or a 5x 50 robusto. Can't beat them at a buck a smoke, shipping included.

I have a few Monte #2 (Habanas) in my humi, plus a couple of Cohiba and a Bolivar (also Cuban), from my travels abroad. But I enjoy a good Nicaraguan or Honduran just as much as the Cubans, to be honest.

Haven't had beer and cigars, usually have a cognac, port or calvados with my smoke, although I would think a porter or imperial stout would go nicely.

There are so many great cigars out there. Partagas, La Gloria Cubana, Punch, Hoyo de Monterey... the list goes on and on. Not to mention all the Cubans out there. Usually I like to smoke a cigar with either a nice port or a single malt scotch. Every now and again, especially this time of year, they go great with a lot of the X-mas beers out there. A nice strong scotch ale, or an imperial stout pair very nicely.

I had a Padron series Churchhill, natural wrapper. I generally buy 2 or 3 at a time, of different brands, from my local shop - I like to try new things.

I generally smoke a pipe if I am going to smoke. I enjoy an occasional cigar especially when fishing, camping, playing in a poker game or gambling in a casino. I have a couple Cubans (Cohiba) in the humi from my last trip to London. I actually won a coin toss in the tobacconist with my buddy and he had to buy them.

when at a tobacconist, i tend towards hondurans (i like the spice) from original cuban seeds with EMS wrappers (maduro are too strong for me).

my old stand by is the hoyo de monterrey rothchilds (i like the bigger ring size, shorter length) hand rolled.

chaz: english, aromatic, or natural? i tend to hop around on pipe tobaccos, although i prefer english styles with lots of different virginian tobacos in there. don't smoke my pipe too much anymore, it's just so damn difficult in public anymore and my lifestyle is just a bit too stressful to sit back and relax...quit smoking cigs for a long time, but i'm back on them and not happy about it :(

I hop around on Tobaccos too. What ever strikes my fancy at the time. Although I have about 20 pipes I don't really smoke that much because it is like you say a bit of a hassle and my wife won't let me smoke in the house anyway. I smoke more frequently in the warmer weather. I never really got into cigarettes and I am thankful for that. By the way, Congrats on your 700th post and I sent out your package this morning.

yeah, i just can't smoke one tobbaco...but i try and get a half-pound at a time and limit myself to four or five pipes so that the pipes don't get too confused. haven't smoked my pipe since june, though :(

thanks for sending the package, yours will probably go out monday or tuesday when i get back from OR (along with fretless' and Tweek's).

if you like ordering from jrcigars.com try out their consuegras. Less back breaking than pretty much any of their other lines in terms of cost. And one hell of a smoke. Basically they're seconds of hoyo de monterrey, punch, excalibur, and jr ult's. The 9m's and 73m's are fantastic.

As far as cigars:
I love camacho diplomas, fuente don carlos, fuente sungrown, ashton vsg, padron anniversary maduro, and a host of others.

i also enjoy pipes. virginia blends are generally my favorite. as far as blenders go, all the gl pease stuff is really good.

I know what you mean...

I can say one thing, though, I have never felt better!
