I have some SRB that I use in smoothies for breakfast. It's made by Nutracea and sold through different channels. I buy the Bob's Red Mill stuff. Anyway, it is a very nutritious powder, full of anti-oxidants and phytosterols (see http://www.nutracea.com/downloads/PDS/PDS_SRB_Fine.pdf for details). It has a nutty taste to it. I am wondering if any of the nutrients would make it through the mashing, brewing and fermentation process. My first thought would be to use it in a Nut Brown/Porter/Stout or something similar for taste purposes. My goal would be a more nutritious beer. Maybe I can feel better about the few pints I regularly consume :)
Any thoughts?

If you want healthy beer, drink Guiness. After all, they do say it's good for you in their advertising :)

I do like Guinness! My wife and I are expecting our first child in a few weeks and from what we have read it's good for nursing mothers so maybe she can have a couple! I brought up the SRB because I love the flavor and I know it's more nutritious than Guinness :)
I was just wondering if any of the science/chemistry/mash specialists out there might be able to tell me if any of the good stuff in there might make it to the final beer or if it would just add flavor.
