I signed up for a school team that will be building a mini-Baja car and then shipping it to Portland to race it against other similar cars, I also Whitewater kayak and will be hitting up some good rivers whilst I am there and have a place to stay with a kayaker who used to live on the East coast of Canada. My Question is what brewpubs, pubs, and bers shall I keep my eye open for.

I will be competing in Portland but am unsure of where my buddy resides at this time.

I have heard rumors of Rogue and hair of the dog and recognized Full sail on the prewpubs list for Oregon on the site, but any others?

Honestly, you can't turn a corner in Portland, OR without stepping into a brewpub. You're going to be overwhelmed! But in a good way.

If you can, get out to the original Rogue brewery in Newport -- it's a beautiful setting and a fun tour.

A visit to Portland is not complete withoout a stop at Horsebrass. The place is legendary, and well deserving of its status.
As Steve said, there are dozens, or more, worth stopping at.

I agree with beerking on the Horse Brass. As far as Rogue is concerned, if you want to stay in the metro area, they have a brew pub in town at 1339 NW Flanders. Deschuttes also has a new place in town. Heard it is real nice. You can pretty much walk a few blocks in any direction and fall into the door of a good place to find a brew. The Blue Monk, New Old Lompoc, Laurelwood etc...

Too bad. That's just a little late for Spring Beer and Wine Fest.

I second Rogue! You can become a Rogue Nation Member. They take your picture, give you a card, and you get a discount on beer. On your birthday they give you a free liter of anything you want and a t-shirt! Its great!

I've been wanting to try rogue's beers for a long time now I have read a lot about them in various literature. The Rogue Nation Memeber looks like something I will join for sure, thanks for the info on all the goodies.
