Due to some re-arranging, I no longer have room in my freezer for my hops (pellets.) I had been keeping them in individual tupperware containers, frozen to help them last as long as possible.

I've been forced to move them to the refridgerator, and my question is, will they spoil much faster there? I usually use my hop pellets within a few months, but occationally some will sit up to 6.

thoughts?

Six months in the fridge really isn't that big of a deal. I've had hops in there for more than a year, and they're still good. Make sure you smell them before you use them, though. If they have a really cheesy aroma, toss them and buy some more.

one of those vaccum sealers...they are your friend ;) fridge should be fine, but air is also the killer.

I was just about to post a similair thread when i spotted this one.
I have a pack of unopened foil packed hops, that's past its sell-by date.
I'm hoping, because it's vacuum packed, they should be ok. I guess it's just a case of smell it and see so?

If they are vacuum sealed they are fine. Hops will degarde over time, but if you keep them sealed tightly, away from air and as cold as possible (freezer is best) they will be good for some time to come.
