A sample from Old Dominion thanks to a trade-in-progress with Chaz:
Poured a golden, hazy color. OD calls this an unfiltered "Keller" Pils, from the German style of a beer that is still aging in the cellar, but sampled from the "Zwickel," or tap, before being filtered and served proper.
White head, thick in the pour, but settling to a thin, craggy cap.
Hoppy nose - Hallertauers? Somewhat soapy as Hallertauers can be. Crystal malt aromas behind hops, somewhat grainy - cracker-like notes.
Predominant hop flavor, caramel/crystal, malt sweetness just coming through in the finish. Hops linger long in the aftertaste citrus-soapy, but not offensive at all.
A thin body with a sort of velvety mouth feel from the carbonation and maybe the malt sweetness.
Clean, refreshing drinkability, if not somewhat unbalanced toward the hop side.
