Can remember when beer was served in a bucket? Um, I used to get beer served in a bucket as long ago as the early '80s Paris. And let me break it to you as easy as I can, you ain't hot.

Annorexic does not equal "hot"
Nor does pure, unadulterated ignorance and stupidity!
I must admit however, that discussion about oil (written by someone else, I am sure) is the most intelligent thing I have ever heard her say. I didn't even know she was capabile of reading half of those multi-syllabic words.

Miss Hilton and her editorial response to John McCain. And no, this is not in defense of McCain, just a huuuge eyeroll at Paris -- and since her writers brought beer into the mix when making fun of McCain's age, I thought I'd vent.

I haven't actually seen the video but did read a news article about it. I think a lot of the comments about McCain's age were quite funny.

Nate, Not sure the reference you make.
Can't remember where I first heard it, but when you abbreviate out a cartridge name it looks like you're citing chapter and verse, i.e. Rem. 7.62 => Book of Remington, Chapter 7, Verse 62.
It's stupid in that military way of making things way more complicated and obscure than they need to be, but it got stuck in my head at some point as a way of saying mankind would probably benefit by the removal of certain genes from the pool. :D
Not that I advocate that sort of thing...

I just looked at the index in the Book of Remington. You'll find Chapt 7 Verse 62 on page 308.
One of my favorite places in the world is Nicks English Hut (http://www.nicksenglishhut.com/index.html). Beer by the bucket.
Bucket Brigade
In the mid-1970s, a private, beer-drinking club was established. Members were the proud owners of tin “buckets” from which they drank their brew. Each of the 120 pales was numbered, and only its owner could drink from the designated bucket. If members moved away or died, their buckets were willed to a new generation of the brigade. In the early 1980s, the Bucket Brigade became so popular Nick’s established the Attic Bucket Brigade, adding 40 more buckets. Nick’s currently sells replicas of the buckets.

She has supposedly marketed herself as an "actress," so it is her profession to be able to memorize, and speak with some animation, regardless of her feelings, understanding or beliefs on the subject.

Sadly, I feel like this borderline level of basic competence is what is passing for "achievement" nowadays.
"You didn't hit anyone today, Timmy? That's great! Have a cookie!"
"You can sign your own name? That's super awesome! Have a diploma!"
"You can remember how to say a couple of big words? Good for you! You're an actress!"
I weep for America. We are becoming a nation of children.

It was his ad that showed her face on the TV and used it to compare Obama as "just a celeb." Why not turn it around and show that "anyone" can be in politics?

But the ad that used Hilton (and Britney) wasn't making fun of them (per se), it was comparing Obama's celebrity to theirs. If anything, Hilton should have been flattered. Instead, she listened to her advisors who said she was being "used." As if that's been a problem in the past?

According to Jeanie Moos on cnn.com, it took her 4 takes. Personally, I thought it was good zinger on McCain. I like a good laugh...sometimes even at my own expense.
I must say that I have no real appreciation for her or her antics, granted she is good looking, slender without look anorexic, but damn...she is one of the type examples of what is wrong with American culture, and why we will fail as a society. After all, other idiots like Bitchny Spears, Lopsided Lohan (sad with this one, she had so much potential), Micheal-<I-Love-boys-and-chimps>-Jackson, Tom Cruise, and etc all worked very hard for their celebrity status. And despite the idiots they are--or have become--they all are very, very talented people (OK, maybe not so much Britney).
All she is is an aid for head retention.....:)

I thought it was clever and funny. And I think the McCain "celebrity" ads are silly and a flip-flop on his pledge not to use negative campaigning. The Paris ad is clearly tongue in cheek. What’s wrong with a little humor?
Personally I think most folks will make up their minds after Labor Day and the debates. Perhaps by then the huge differences between the two candidates will be apparent and decisions based on ISSUES should be easy.
Vote issues and conscience.
I hate negative ads but unfortunately they work so we can expect to see a lot more of them. I'd like to see both candidates disavow them talk about substantive issues.
And these salacious emails that get passed around are even worse. Next time you receive one about either candidate check it out on Snopes.com for it’s veracity before passing it along. Some of them are patently ridiculous.
Now about bucket of beer – Back in the 70s we used to get buckets of Natty Boh down at Trader Lee’s Village in Ocean City. Literally plastic buckets filled with beer. It was an outside bluegrass music venue with live pickers, picnic tables and buckets of beer.
I’ve been told that most resorts in Cancun serve buckets of beer containing 10 bottles of Corona.

/QUOTE]
There are a bunch usually. In the 2000 primary it was rumored by the Bush campaign that McCain had a secret black baby and it hurt McCain.
One current one is about Obama dissing the troops on his visit overseas. It supposedly is a letter from a serviceman named Porter. It has been debunked on Snopes but I have received it several times.
There are others about Obama being a Muslim that I recieved earlier in the year.
And there is the whispering campaign about Cindy McCain being a drug addict based on her admission that she stole drugs from her own charity years ago.
I have friends who represent the extremes on both sides of the political coin and so I often get included in their email distribution lists. I almost always ignore them. However, I sometimes can't resist sending / forwarding these emails to the other sides lists and then sit back and watch them go at each other.

While I am conservatively indepandent, I am also an equal opprotunity offender. My former brewing partner was militantly liberal (though he refuses to acknowledge that he is a democrat). During the last election, I replaced all of his Jogn Kerry bumper stickers and yard signs with Bush propaganda.
I do not think I have ever seen someone so pissed.

I think the implication was that he remembers when beer was ONLY served in buckets. You´ve probably read about or seen documentaries on the old tradition of sending a boy to the bar with buckets or growlers to bring back to the workers to enjoy on their lunch break. That was before the bottling technology got up to snuff so I doubt even McCain remembers that.
As for the rest, agreed, Paris is not hot. Still, she has someone intelligent close to her. The use of Britney and Paris was clearly a dig at celebrities with questionable morals at best, otherwise a shot of Branjolie would have done the trick as they´re more famous anyway. Curiously, Britney appeared in support of Bush in 2004 and according to Jon Stewart, Paris´ mom gave McCain the maximum contribution permitted by law just before McCain ran the ad.
