Howdy All-
I think I've got my wife ralked into getting
me a grain mill for Christmas!!!
Question- Does anyone out there have any experience or opinion on the "BARLEYCRUSHER" brand mill? The price is right; seems to have the features I want.
Lifetime warranty as well.
Any help would be appreciated Thanks
Tom

I found an inexpensive grain mill at my local brewstore. $49.99 for the Marga. It's Italian, and it looks like a pasta machine. With a little engineering, it works very well. I used to use the corona mill at the brew store but it seemed to produce too much powder. This Marga crushes the grain but does not produce flour. I can mill 10 pounds in about 30 minutes.

I dont know about the barley crusher. It may very well be a great mill. From what Ido know however I would go with a Phil Mill or a Schmidling mill. Both of these mills are proven performers and will do what you need them to.

While I personally do not have a barley crusher everytime I see the question posted it gets great reviews from those that have one.

I also recently bought the Marga Mulino mill........ This unit has a total of 3 nickel plated steel rollers which are quite easily adjusted, even beyond the range of the built-in stops on the adjuster knob. Very nicely built machine at about the price of the Carona.

I also have the Marga. I added a nice homemade hopper so it would hold more grains.

I've never seen it online. I bought it at a beerstore down the road.

How does it compare to a true grain mail like the Valey Mill? How is the grain crush?

Keep in mind that even though the Marga has 3 rollers they are only 4 inches long. You might find the output a little slow for all grain brewing if you're short on patience. The rollers are however, very easy to adjust throughout their entire range to get exactly the crush you want. And the price of aprox 50.00 +/- is hard to beat for the quality.

Mine was 49.99. The crush is very good. It can be slow, but I rigged a hopper out of acrylic that has sped the process up. I brew all-grain, and I find it plenty fast.

Howdy All-
Thanks for all the input / advice.
After more deliberation, I got the
BARLEYCRUSHER; It's every bit as
nice as it seems...Comes with a base
and hopper already mounted!!
Fully adjustable (but not on-the-fly)
Also includes a nice handle.
All in all, I think i'll keep her!!
(Wife and mill!!)
Make like Rudolph and get yer red nose
on!! Happy Holidays all

My wife just got me a barley crusher also. Hopefully, it will arrive in the mail tomorrow. Even better, one of the local stores is running a special and I can buy a bag of Breiss two row for $21.
