I saw this on you tube. Did Troeegs use this or is it a well done spoof and what does it say about beer?

It wouldn't surprise me if it was real. What it really speaks to is more the market they are trying to reach rather than making a general comment about beer.

I think this had been discussed a few years ago on Beer Advocate, and some claim that it was shown once in a small college-town market and other sources use it as an example of "viral marketing" and that it's popularity on YouTube is, in part, based on the myth of it having been "banned".

I would *hope* that, despite the adolescent "toilet" humor, that Troegs' was really satircally poking fun at BMC commercials. I *hope*.

I say that about a LOT of current advertising campaigns as well as the programming on commercial TV - "...they can't really SERIOUSLY think that that commercial makes their product appealing enough to me to want to go out and buy it, do they?" or "People really watch this @#$%?".

Maybe I give "them" too much credit? Or maybe it's just a rare optimistic thought from me- the culture can't really be this bad, can it?

I think it's pretty high concept stuff. It's taking the piss out of the standard old school marketing while actually being effective for the very reason the old school marketing stuff was with the added benefit of those in the know getting a chuckle. And getting to look at bikini clad women.
