Reporting back from the Great Canadian Homebrew Conference this past weekend at the Rhino bar and grill in Toronto.
It was a wonderful event with Michael Hancock of Denison's telling us all about his and other Weissbieres, drinking his with German food (lot's of food!), A.G. wheat beer brewing demonstration on the patio, more sampling of other Barvaian and Austrian Wheat beers as well as some Belgian Wit's, the awards and of course sampling each-others homebrew at the end.
Michael's beer is considered one of the best Weiss beers in the world according to RateBeer.com and is among the top few beers in overall points as well!
A great event, I had the chance to talk to many customers and strike up some new relationships.
And oh, for the Awards? The Regina Alers cleaned up, as did the SOB's (southern Ontario brewers). For a full list of the winners check the CABA (Canadian Amateur Brewers Association) site at www.homebrewers.ca
I'm definately making a Bavarian Weiss biere next!
