Need places to drink beer in Mitterfels and/or Straubing area.

We will be there for the 2nd and 3rd week of September. Are there any fests going on? If not, where are good Bierhalle to drink beer in that region? I alreaedy have Stahlsturm's list for Regensbkurg area. Thanks in advance.

There are 2 breweries right in Straubing. There's nothing in Mitterfels but if you go further up north-east there's a load of tiny places in the Bavarian Woods (Viechtach, Taisnach, Drachselried, Bodenmais, Zwiesel and my personal favourite of the area, Böbrach).
There isn't much left in the direct vicinity of Straubing (Well, there's Konzell and Irlbach) but the eastern half of Regensburg county is not far from Straubing. Not far by german standards means it's probably less far than most people here commute to work :D Since you'll be here for 2 weeks you should probably PM me for more details :)

In Straubing you can get the beer of the two local breweries pretty much on every street corner. I don't know about Mitterfels actually as I've never been there (thus far)... So many beers, so little time... :D

I got list of beer places from Straubing Tourist office. Surprisingly you can pick and choose from just the name of the place. Works high percentage of the time. I have spent quite a bit of time drinking bier in Germany. Most of experience is in the Stuttgart area and around Muenchen. Thanks for input though.

I was @ the "Gäubodenfest" with two BAs last Thursday. Was great fun and the festbier of the Karmeliten Brauerei is really yummy :)
