conniston bluebird

well, chaz has been talking this beer up, and the other day (read: last week) when i was getting some beers for a trade with davesarman i was at the local paint store going through the deep, dark, out of the way cooler when i saw conniston bluebird in 22 oz. bottles...so i purchased a couple...one to drink, one to cellar.

ok, this is definitely one of the finest bitters i've ever had! wow! great flavor, awesome hops, great nose, a very tart/citrusy aftertaste...man, what a great beer!

thanks for the recommendation, chaz! one damn fine ale!

oh, and in deference to richard, i got a couple of fuller's 1845 as well...one of my favorites when i can get it.

Well, I did the same thing last weekend! Although I only bought 1...

And I have to concur that it was a smooth, delicious brew. The hops were subtle, and there was a definite fruitiness on the nose. I didn't get too much of a tartness in the finish, but it was there. Maybe like the tartness of an apple. Overall, it was an excellent session beer that left me wanting more!

i had this beer on tap at the Duke of Perth in Chicago and loved it. Very subtle and well balanced. This is making me think I should go pick up a bottle today... hrmm....

I had it two nights ago. A very nice bitter. In fact, I had one of the most traditional-english nights I have had: Durham's Saint Cuthbert IPA, Old Speckled Hen, Bluebird, Bishop's Finger and Black Sheep: the dryest selection I have had in a while.

I was in my local on Wednesday and they were totally out of Coniston. I had gotten the last of it previously. My guy said that they were having problems with the distributor who brings in Coniston and Shepherd Neame. He was not certain when the next shipment would arrive. I only have one Left!!!
