With the holidays fast approaching I would like to know what your favorite toasts are so maybe I can steal one or two. I'm a sap so I do like some of the sentimental ones and I also enjoy the funny and witty ones as well. So lets get a list going here. What is your favorite toast?

I always wing my own toasts. To what are we toasting? I usally toast to the happiness of good friends and family.
May your life be blessed with good friends and a strong family as these are the best part of life.

My best toast was at my brother's wedding, I the best man. I got my mother to help me make about 200 pieces of toast. I passed them out to the wedding guests with instructions. I rambled for a minute on how my brother and new wife were right for easc other then held my glass aloft and said, "To Paul and Stephanie, a toast." At that moment about 200 bits of toast flew up to the head table. It looked great from vantage point standing with the band who were laughing very loud.

I've always liked this one:

Here's to the women who buy all the shoes;
Take all our money and drink all our booze.
They're no longer virgins and that is a sin;
But they still got the box that the cherry came in!

SALUDE

sorry about the double post...I just thought it would be wittier that way.

"It's easy to grin when your ship comes in, and you've got the stock market beat. But the man that's worthwhile is the man who can smile when his shorts are too tight in the seat."

My favorite after-everyone-has-a-buzz toast:

Here's to you(*Raise glass to everyone at the table*)
And here's to me(*Bring glass back to your chest*)
If we should ever disagree
F**k you - here's to me.

Maybe not toasts but words of wisdom from some other well known TV personas:

Walk softly and carry a big stick
and don't change horses in the middle of the crick (creek).
- Jed Clampett

Very sagatious words.

Life is cruel
and life is earnest
If you get cold
turn up the furnace
-Herman Munster

I too usually "wing" my toasts. This is a great time of the year, even when the chips are down to remember that you made it through another year. Remember our servicmembers and their families and the sacrifices they are making and those who were not as fortunate as us.

And days like today, 14 years ago, when these brave men (http://www.arlingtoncemetery.org/hi...just_cause.html) went off to fight and did not make it home.
