I maybe moveing to Norman, OK for a job at OU. Any reasonable places to find good beer? I saw a number of paint stores while driving around town but I know the selection in most of those is probably pretty poor.

Good luck. Make sure your new house has a good space to brew. From what I've heard about OK, you are going to need it.

Ok will be rough for beer. The liquor stores close early and some arent open on sundays. There is a good irish pub in downtown OK City. I forgot the name but most people will know if u describe it. Good luck thouh, it was the longest 9 months of my life

There is a Brewpub called Bricktown Brewery in OKC. I have always liked their Copperhead ale. As far as what everyone else has said, yeah, their right. I moved to Tulsa from Milwaukee, WI. It was quite a change of culture. I'm used to going out Sunday to pick up beer for the Packers game. Not here. In Milwaukee theres at least one bar on every city block. In Tulsa its a church on every block (not that I have anything against church, I go most Sundays). One word of advice, becarful who you tell that you brew your own beer. Many churches here preach very strong anti-alcohol messages. You don't want to be labeled a heathen sinner.

On the bright side, you already know how to brew good beer.

Lots stuff I already knew, I lived in Enid, OK for awhile which is when I started brewing, of course I have not brewed since moveing out here. One of the reasons I am considering this job is that it is close to my wifes family and it would be nice to have the kids grow up with their cousins. So I have spent a fair amount of time in Oklahoma over the year so I know pretty much what I am getting into.

I know of one paint store in OKC that had a reasonalbe selection, I was just wondering if Norman may have one given that it is a college town.

As for a heathen sinner, I am also Cathloic so I am damned anyway according to most of the bible thumpers there anyway.:D
