Thanks for that. I enjoy Stoudts beers and also the food at the Black Angus. THey throw some pretty nice festivals as well.

Thanks for the link; and as chaz said, Stoudts puts on one of the best festivals for your money. The food they provide in the buffet just about makes up for the price of the ticket alone.

Last year I went to Philly to visit my sister and take in a few historical sites. I ended up going on a lot of brewery tours and Stoudts was one of them.

It was a very slow day and the only people on the tour were my sister and me and giving the tour was Ed Stoudt himself. It was great! Ed was, as you might imagine, quite informative. He was funny and personable and very laid back. He not only told us about the brewing process and the regular tour stuff, but went into alot of Stoudts history and much of his tours in Europe. He also went into his theories on the health benefits of beer. He also said that he makes some of the best sour-dough pancakes around.

One little factoid that I found interesting coming from the Chicago area, was that Stoudts was the place that Goose Island brewed their first batch. They made it there and trucked it back to Illinois. Small world. Great mini tour to take if your in the area.
