Hello all,
I've read that TSP will remove labels if soaked overnight. But what about foil that is on the neck. I have some Beck's bottles, and they have the foil necks. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Joe

I just fill the sink with hot soapy water and let the bottles soak for about an hour or so. Sometimes the foil ones need a little longer, sometimes they don't.

Hey, Joe;
To remove labels, I just take an old brew bucket, fill it with water, dump in about a cup or so of ammonia, cover it (to keep the bugs out), load as many bottles into it as I can and within a few days, the labels fall to the bottom of the bucket. For the foil ones, it helps to score them a little to allow the liquid to soak into the glue. I've never tried TSP, let me know if it works.

Thanks for the replys. Out of work and home PC died!
TSP so far is pulling the labels right off as well as the foil. Looks like it is removing the glue from the bottles as well, FYI.
3-4 hours paper was coming off and 6-8 hours later foil was starting. An overnite soak has them pretty much falling off or easily removed. I might need to do a little wipe with a soapy sponge.
TSP is a harsh cleaner, I'm not sure if I like it on the skin or near the family. I will try other ways as well, bleach, sopa & water, etc.

Hey Joe,
It's true that TSP can be rough, but compared to bleach, it's really not that bad. The problem is that anything that is alkaline enough to go after the adhesives often used in beer labels is going to be rough on your skin.
