Does anybody know what size socket it takes to remove the gas/liquid connects on a corney (pepsi-ball lock style) ?
I was thinking it was either 7/8 or 13/16 but I may be wrong. I need to buy a deeper socket, as my current socket set is too shallow, but buying sockets individually is expensive and I want to get the correct size.

fuji, they're different, depending on the manufacturer. 13/16" is common, but I have some narrower ones too...
I also use a box wrench to take mine off, works just as well, and an el cheapo set of those may be more cost effective...

I use an 11/16 deep socket. My kegs are Cornelius pepsi ball lock kegs. I also have a pair of channel locks but I don't recomend it... too easy to strip the valve.

so the answer is 11/16" and 13/16". Scroll down a little bit here (http://www.northernbrewer.com/keg-repair-parts.html) to see the different keg post assemblies that you may have...

OK, error correction time. I cleaned out a couple of kegs tonight, I have several Cornelius Super Champion kegs that have both 7/8" and 11/16" posts... No 13/16"...
all three of my ball connects are slightly different. i use a vise grips.

MoreBeer has both the 11/16" deep socket (http://www.morebeer.com/detail.php3?pid=TOOL120) and the 7/8" deep socket (http://www.morebeer.com/detail.php3?pid=TOOL128). I'd shop around though; you may be able to beg, borrow, or otherwise find them cheaper. But they are there as a last resort.
your local sears should also have deep-wall sockets of that size. while not the best, at least crapsman has a lifetime warranty and is relatively inexpensive.

My kegs are all 11/16. I would get them at the local hardware store. Around $4 should get it.
